If you miss the "old fashioned craftsmanship" and the solid feel of a device that doesn't scream " I AM PLASTIC!," you should love the Remington HF9000. It's like your dad's electric razor, but it is charged by USB and made from quality modern materials. The shaving head seems to be solidly built, and the razor has some heft to it, which just seems a lot more "manly" than the paper-light products we have all grown used to. It does a great job on my beard which, being very light, is a challenge to most electric shavers. The pop up trimmer is a champ, as well. If you gift this to someone who uses an electric shaver, they will be very happy, unless they prefer wimpy products. If you are old enough to remember the old Remington commercial, "I liked the product so much, I bought the company," you will appreciate this product!
Found the listing for the Remington HF9000 by accident. What a lucky accident. Love the look, the feel, the performance. I loved it so much that I bought two. (I couldn't afford to buy the company)
It looked so cool. Reminded me of my fathers from long ago. I was hoping it to be more metal than plastic,, but still solid. Have not charged it in 2 weeks after initial. I am bearded,, so it's only for daily neck use. Shaves very good.
Comes with great box and stuff to store,, just wish it came out of the box insert easier.
I am pretty disappointed in my purchase of the Heritage HF9000 after years of using my old Remington F5790. The Heritage is no where near the close shave I get with my older unit, at half the price. The F5790 shaves as close as a blade which is why I bought it so many years ago. The Heritage is a nice piece of shaving gear but it can't compare. Sorry but I believe I will order the heads and continue with my F5790 as long as I can get parts.
I really don't like this new model HF9000. I's a little awkward to use, does not give me a close shave and I don't like the recommendation to change the head every 6 month. I had the Remington model ES-1000 for about 25 years and loved it. I got a very smooth, close shave and had to replace the head only once during all that time.
I have been a Remington shaver owner for many years. I still have my Microscreen Intercept and use it daily. I upgraded to the Heritage Shaver and feel it is as good as the Intercept. The reason for 2 stars is poor, bad engineering when you cannot remove the top for cleaning. My shaver requires a screw driver or lots of muscle to pull apart the head from the body. There is a button on the side but it is useless. The parts DO NOT fit together. Buy it if you want, but I am taken back by the poor part construction.
And the maintenance to clean the shaver what is above and beyond the norm. I have returned the shaver for a full refund.
